The Person Behind the Pages
Step beyond the books and into the journey, the quirks, and the experiences that shape my voice.
About Me
"My work lives at the intersection of faith, emotion, and imagination."
Hello! I am Rukayat Abimbola Ojurongbe-Alaka (such a long name.. haah), a writer who believes deeply in the power of stories — stories that heal, stories that teach, and stories that spark wonder. I currently live in the UK where I have been endorsed by the Arts Council England as a writer with “promising talent”. My journey into writing began with a desire to make sense of the world, to tell the truths we often hold quietly, and to offer joy where it’s needed most.
I published my first book, The Things Father Did Not Teach Us, as a young woman learning how to grow, love, and forgive. Later, I created Little Hands, Big Alhamdulillah to remind children that gratitude is found in the smallest, sweetest moments.
My work lives at the intersection of faith, emotion, and imagination. Through writing, speaking, school visits, and creative workshops, I hope to nurture minds of all ages and encourage them to embrace storytelling as a tool for growth.
Mission
To tell stories that inspire gratitude, healing, creativity, and connection.
Vision
To create literature and experiences that uplift, educate, and empower readers of all backgrounds.
"
Words can hold emotions too big to carry alone — and so I began writing to release, understand, and connect.
